Besides the hype, besides the technical fuckups of NASDAQ, besides the overvaluation and offering too many shares during their IPO, I think the reason Facebook’s stock is failing as much as it is right now is that people have come to realize that Everybody’s Favorite Social Network is just too obnoxious, intrusive, and data-scrapingly assholish in the way it treats everyone from its most ardent users to, sadly, people on third-party platforms like, I dunno, TUMBLR, that perhaps want nothing at all to do with the privacy black hole that is Mark Zuckerberg’s dickishness incarnate but wake up and log on to find THIS UTTER BULLSHIT.
I go on Tumblr to be on Tumblr, Tumblr.  Please leave the shitty Facebook tactics to Facebook.

This is probably going to get quoted in every publication just because I said it. And I’m not even saying anything. I’m not talking about my films, I’m not talking about my life, and I’m not talking about the world. And yet, the media will print it simply because I said it. And at this moment in time, I bet there is an artist around the corner of this hotel, on the street, with a mind far beyond ours, but we will never listen to him simply because he has not appeared in a movie. And that is what is fucked up about our culture.

So just finished Dance of Dragons! I am now in that place after having been immersed in this world for so long I feel like I have been woken from a dream. Now what? 5 year wait for the next book? What has happened to Sansa? Will Arya ever be found ? Jon Snow !!! And so many more… Jamie, Brienne, Tyrion, Stannis. I will have to content myself with the thought that Mr Martin may be under a little more pressure to write to keep up with the excellent TV series.

I’d always heard your entire life flashes in front of your eyes the second before you die. First of all, that one second isn’t a second at all. It stretches on forever, like an ocean of time…Lester Burnham

I’ve finally fell in love with Kindle.
It’s amazing, to buy books in one click and immediately get them with no postal delays. Amazing to read even the thickest and heaviest books with device less than 200 grams weight. Amazing — to touch any unfamiliar word and instantly get a definition, or to highlight sentences without fear to sully paper. And, of course, every book being opened, opens just on page you’ve closed it last time. Oh, thank you, The 21st Century.
